Sign-in and password¶
First sign-in¶
When you first get access to Shiftly, you receive an email with a link to set your password.
Set your password¶
- Open the email — Click the link in the email
- Enter a password — Choose a strong password (at least 8 characters)
- Confirm — Enter the password again
- Save — Click Save
- Sign in — You are redirected to the sign-in page
Password requirements¶
- At least 8 characters
- Should be hard to guess
- Validated automatically by the system
Sign-in¶
Normal sign-in¶
- Open the sign-in page — Go to the Shiftly sign-in page
- Enter email — Your email address
- Enter password — Your password
- Sign in — Click Sign in
After a successful sign-in you are taken to shift scheduling.
Forgot password¶
If you forgot your password:
- Click “Forgot password?” — On the sign-in page
- Enter email — Your email address
- Send email — Click the send button
- Check email — You receive a reset link (if the address exists in the system)
- Set a new password — Follow the instructions in the email
Note: No error is shown whether or not the email exists — this protects your privacy.
Change password¶
You can change your password at any time:
- Open account — Click your profile image (bottom left)
- Choose Account — From the menu
- Enter new password — Type your new password
- Confirm — Enter it again
- Save — Click Save
You see a confirmation when the change succeeds.
Sign out¶
- Open profile menu — Click your profile image (bottom left)
- Choose Sign out
- Redirect — You are taken to the sign-in page
After sign-out you must sign in again to use Shiftly.
Common issues¶
“Too many requests” (rate limit)¶
If you try to sign in or use “Forgot password” too often in a short time, the system may respond with “Too many requests” to prevent abuse.
What to do:
- Wait briefly — Try again after about a minute
- Avoid rapid retries — Space out sign-in or reset attempts
If the message persists, contact your administrator.
Password not working¶
- Use the correct email address
- Check Caps Lock
- Try resetting your password
Email not received¶
- Check spam
- Confirm the email address is correct
- Wait a few minutes and retry
- Contact your administrator
Link expired¶
- Password setup links are valid for 12 hours
- Request a new link if it expired
- Ask your administrator for a new link if needed
Security tips¶
- Use a strong, unique password
- Never share your password
- Change it regularly
- Sign out when finished, especially on shared computers
